These lines are not meant to be a philosophical treatise. On a day-to-day level everyone knows what is meant by The TRUTH. But the purpose of this page and the next is to show how devastating falsehood can be.

• The source of most human misery is falsehood. The current issues of pollution, global warming, inter-racial hatred, extreme poverty and starvation, religious fundamentalism and wars in various parts of the world, are all brought about and sustained through the use of falsehood in its many different guises.
• The growing dangers posed by pollution and the acquisition of weapons of mass destruction by tyrants and religious fanatics, clearly need a totally honest approach by the world's leaders, otherwise there will be catastrophic results.
• The dire need of the moment is to heighten our ability to recognize falsehood, especially when promoted for political, ideological, religious and commercial interests.
• We must learn the difference between really knowing the truth about something and just believing it.
• The Israel-Arab conflict stems directly from the ongoing use of lie, half-truth and selective omission, cynically accepted by the international community. With greater respect for truthfulness, the whole conflict and the tragic Arab refugee problem could have been settled generations ago.
• There is also a vital need in Israel for greater respect and understanding of The TRUTH. Many of Israel's internal problems are caused by the use of falsehood. We must all learn to recognize falsehood not only in others ... but in ourselves.
